For the fourth consecutive time, the UNIDO Institute together with the Central European University (CEU) organized a summer course on “Green Industry: Pathways towards Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development” in Budapest, Hungary.

Out of over 400 applicants, 125 individuals participated in a one-month e-learning course. The 25 best performing candidates were then invited to the in-residence training at the campus of CEU at the heart of Budapest, Hungary.

In over 35 sessions, they learned about – inter alia – inclusive and sustainable development, green industrial policies, resource efficient and cleaner production, eco-industrial parks, gender and green industry, environmental cost analysis, waste management, CSR and international environmental standards in trade.

Sessions included group work, scenario building- and eco-design exercises as well as a field trip to former industrial- and remediation site NITROKEMIA at Lake Balaton. Lecturers included experts from UNIDO, from other international organizations, the private sector, government and CEU.
