Sustainable Energy Solutions course in Groningen

From 8 – 12 April 2019, around 25 policy makers and ministerial officers from developing countries and emerging economies as well as some representatives from international organisations gathered in Groningen for a capacity building course on ‘sustainable energy solutions’, jointly organised by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and New Energy Coalition, a Dutch knowledge and network organisation striving for a sustainable world by boosting the acceleration of the energy transition.

EQuIP Training of Trainers final event in Vienna

Innovate Green Competition

The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and UNIDO ITPO Bahrain, through the sponsorship of The First Energy Bank, are organizing the Innovate Green Competition for university students across the Middle East and North Africa region, under the theme of “Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Innovation and Entrepreneurship”. The Innovate Green Competition will serve as a platform for students to contribute to their own economic benefit whilst making positive impacts on environmental issues through social and technological innovation.

In Bahrain, training course on pathways towards a circular economy

Bahrain – 2 December 2018

A five-day training course on “Green industrial development – Pathways towards a Circular Economy” has opened at the University of Bahrain. The course is run by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and is supported by the Supreme Council for the Environment of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (DERASAT) and the UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office in Bahrain.

International experts gathered in Hanoi to help enhance the quality of industrial policy in Vietnam

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Vietnam Industrial Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam organized a four-day training workshop entitled “Enhancing the quality of industrial policy in Viet Nam – White Paper on Vietnam’s New Industry Policy” in Hanoi, 12 – 17 November 2018.

This training workshop is conducted under the framework of the project Support to the Government of Viet Nam in the formulation of Sub-Sector Industrial Strategy and of the related Implementation Policy through Institutional Capacity Building”, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea. The project aims at enhancing the quality of Viet Nam’s industrial development strategy and policy through building institutional capacity, compiling industrial reports for the public and the private sector, and proposing concrete strategies and policies to enhance Viet Nam’s industrial competitiveness.
